District: City and Culture

As we all know, we must leave Earth. As part of the City and Culture district, here a few things we could bring-
  • Building Materials- Bricks, Wood, Glass, Metals, Marble(for statues?) etc.
  • Clothes, Costumes, Artifacts, Water Tanks and Systems, Waste Management Systems(READ BELOW)

Arc Info:

Name:
Japod X56N
Length:
1164.6 km
Height:
16 km
Width:
2 km
Volume:
Unknown
Number of passengers:
2 Pilots, 150 crew members, 800,000 passengers.
Cargo:
Building Materials, Artifacts,
Landing system:
The landing system is designed so that, once the inbuilt sensor sees a good landing area, it will
automatically switch to a speed that will help glide to a halt and release 6 large wheels, to hopefully cushion the fall even more.
Materials used for main body:
Steel, Titanium.
Materials used for heat shield:
I have chosen to use the Space Shuttle Thermal Protection System. It has been used already on the Space Shuttle Orbiter and proved successful, protecting the shuttle from heats exceeding 1,500 C .
Any Other Notes:
The Japod X56N features two entrances, one for cargo and the other for passengers.
It also has a sun roof like feature, allowing the passengers to see out into the solar system.
1/3 of the arc is solely for cargo storage. The rest is for passengers and luggage.
The Japod X56N features a communication system, to contact the other 4 arcs.

Waste Management

As the City and Culture district we are expected to take care of waste management. This was a major contributor towards Earth's dying process, so we need to deal with it carefully.

Recycling
  • Great for the environment
  • You can recycle many things, from simple plastic, to computers and TVs
  • People often don't bother to have two different bins.
This makes things time consuming to sort out.
  • Could be hard to completely switch to recycling for some people.

Minecraft
On Minecraft the 5/6B district members have built a recycling plant, and completed a hotel. I am currently thinking of creating a church or a community town hall. Updates will be below.

City and Culture Discussions/Brainstorm

The City and Culture district have also recently discussed a lot about waste management, especially with the gutter drainage systems and how we should improve the grills which still let rubbish through them.
We've also thought about a garbage tax.
Each person will have a waste limit, and if you were to go over that limit, you are charged a certain amount, depending on how far over the limit you may be.

Please leave any ideas for what to build here:
